Kingfishers - Brilliant Braintree

Kingfishers have had a super start to Year 2 and they have really enjoyed our first topic of 'Brilliant Braintree'.

We have already had two school trips to explore the local area and find out more about our local town. Our trip to the Braintree Library last week enabled us all to find out about the history of Braintree and the children helped to make a map showing Braintree's important landmarks. Jo from the library told everyone lots of interesting facts and stories from the past.

This week, the children took another local walk, but this time our destination was Braintree Public Gardens. The children had time to explore the park and all it has to offer. They used their science skills to spot signs of autumn and found evergreen and deciduous trees.

On the way home, we visited the fountain and St Michael's Church.  The children decided that are very lucky to live in a town that is so interesting!
