Arctic and Antarctic topic

We have been having lots of fun in Kingfishers finding out about the Arctic and Antarctic. (You'll have to wait for our Class Assembly to hear more!)

In Science we have been thinking about the suitability of materials, with particular reference to life in the Polar regions.  We enjoyed testing possible materials to build a shelter from.

We agreed the materials  had to be windproof, waterproof, and strong. We chose paper, ice, wood and plastic to test.

We all agreed that plastic and wood were very much more suitable than paper and ice.
