We launch Children’s University to our Year 1 children, every September. We have an assembly where Debbie Bird from Essex Children’s University comes to talk to the children and explains to them what Children’s University is and the exciting things they can do.
We then send out a provisional passport for the children to begin collecting stamps for their first 10 hours of activity. We have the official passports at a cost of £5 available from the office which will be available for you to purchase once you have collected the first 10 hours.
You can collect activity stamps from afterschool clubs as well as swimming, Beavers, Rainbows, Brownies and Cubs, karate, dance and theatre clubs as long as they are registered on the Children’s University website as an official Learning Destination. If your club is not listed, please download a nomination form from the Essex Childrens University wesbite or alternativley ask the office for a nomination form, you will accrue 2 hours just for nominating!
You may also wish to go direct to the Children’s University website or their Facebook page for more information about learning destinations within our area and beyond and for art and craft activities during the school holidays. http://www.essexchildrensuniversity.co.uk/
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Mills or Mrs Ryan in our school office who will be our Children’s University lead here at John Ray Infants.
We look forward to hearing about the lovely activities you are taking part in and can’t wait to share your first certificate with the rest of the school.
